July 7, 2014 – Toronto, ON (Canada) – In the midst of the final stages at FIFA World Cup 2014, from July 9 to 14, Canadian talent and International freestyle ball master Steve ‘Eli Freeze’ Elias will grace the playing field in Brazil with his fancy footwork and entertain Visa and McDonald’s guests. Best known for his ‘SWRL’ signature move, Steve will showcase his skills while teams go head to head to fight for the coveted title and a chance at the FIFA World Cup Trophy.

Freestyle Football combines juggling a soccer ball with rhythm and style.Freestyle Football dates back to the early 1900s but has gained huge momentum in the last 30 years. Steve Elias joined the movement in the late 80s and is considered the Godfather of freestyle soccer in North America and one of the top freestylers in the world. Freestyle Football gained asurge in mainstream popularity as a result of global advertising campaigns with well-known soccer athletes and digital media sharing. In the era of YouTube, ‘amateur’ footballers have been given the stage to showcase their skills and have created followers to the sport.

From July 9 to July 12, Steve will be showcasing his skills at select Visa events in Brazil. On July 13, Steve will be performing at the famous Maracana Stadium – the same field that is hosting the world’s top soccer players. Following that performance, Steve will be entertaining McDonald’s guests with trick shots on July 14 on the same field, after the FIFA World Cup Finals.
